As part of the University of Chester’s 175th anniversary celebrations, The Cathedrals Group Chaplains’ conference, Annual Conference of Vice-Chancellors and our Choirs Festival for 2015 will be held at Chester next weekend, from 27 February to 1 March 2015.

The weekend culminates in the Choirs Festival which takes place in Chester Cathedral during the evening of Saturday 28 February. This brings together 12 different choirs from member universities who form a massed choir of some 300 voices. The Choirs Festival will be conducted by Vicki Bulgin, Music Director at the University of Chester.

The performance starts at 7.30pm. The first half features selected pieces from individual university choirs with all voices coming together in a massed choir in the second half for Handel’s rousing ‘Zadok the Priest’ and Hayden’s ‘Maria Theresa Mass in B’ for choir, soloists and orchestra. Interval drinks will be served in the Cathedral Refectory.
