Bishop Grosseteste University

Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln was founded as an Anglican institution in 1862. In April 2006 the institution was awarded taught degree awarding powers and university title. The University remains an independent Church of England higher education institution. It has just over 2000 students from Foundation Degree to Doctoral level including about 400 part-timers.

The University has long enjoyed an excellent national reputation for its programmes in the field of teacher education. Over the last fifteen years the University has diversified and now offers a varied and growing portfolio of degree level qualifications in the education-related and cultural and creative sectors.

The University is located close to the historic centre of Lincoln; ten minutes walk from the Cathedral, Castle and other Roman and medieval sites. The University occupies an attractive 18-acre campus which incorporates many green spaces with buildings from every stage of its almost 150 years of existence.
